Dr Kanoi is a Kolkata based Plastic surgeon with extensive clinical experience and training. He received his postdoctoral training (M.Ch) in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from the prestigious Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER), Kolkata. Following this, Dr Kanoi trained extensively at various national and international institutions including a one year highly coveted fellowship in plastic surgery at Tata Medical Center, Kolkata, two years rigorous training programme conducted by the University of Barcelona, Spain (Universität Autonoma De Barcelona) as well as training in the renowned Guys & St. Thomas' hospital in London, UK.

Dr Kanoi is proud to lead the free Cleft Surgery Clinic with the support of the Rotary Foundation. He makes regular appearances in mass media outlets including prominent newspapers and radio talk shows.

“Well, my procedure was performed under local anaesthesia. So, I have a fairly good recollection of the surgery. I remember Dr Kanoi asking me repeatedly during the procedure if I was ok, if I was comfortable. He was very particular while administering the local anaesthetic and demanded the thinnest needle to make the injection as painless as possible. He also had a definite plan to deal with the complications if they occurred, which he discussed with me. For Dr Kanoi, patient safety is the top-most priority. He takes every precaution to ensure patient safety, personally overseeing the entire treatment process including the postoperative period and patient follow-up. Dr Kanoi would never recommend unnecessary surgery or complicated procedures where simple ones would suffice. He is constantly looking out for the patient’s interest. He is committed to protecting his patient’s health and well-being.

At a time, when the doctor-patient relationship has been put under duress, Dr Kanoi believes that an open communication channel is fundamental to understanding the needs and concerns of his patients.

He realizes that every patient is unique and therefore takes the time to listen carefully to their issues, spending 20-30 mins on an average for every consultation, ensuring that nothing is missed or taken for granted.

This allows him to design a highly customized treatment for each of his patients, thereby providing an experience that is comfortable and satisfying.

Dr Kanoi is methodical in his approach and takes pride in being meticulous. He considers it a moral obligation to his patients to do everything that he can to achieve the best possible result that is within his scope. He has an inherent sense of responsibility and takes it upon himself to ensure that everything is in order. Dr Kanoi sets high standards for himself, being his toughest critic.
