I remember Dr Kanoi asking me repeatedly during the procedure if I was ok, if I was comfortable. He was very particular while administering the local anaesthetic and demanded the thinnest needle to make the injection as painless as possible. He also took a lot of time planning the procedure and did not stop till he was satisfied. Dr Kanoi holds himself to a high standard and demands the same from the people who work for him. “During the initial consultation, Dr Kanoi took the time to explain to me what the surgery involved and what were the possible complications. He also had a definite plan to deal with the complications if they occurred, which he discussed with me. I think that was very refreshing to hear him be realistic and practical rather than painting a rosy picture. Also, he told me about what to expect once I woke up after the surgery so that I would not be alarmed. He took good care of me in the ICU, sometimes visiting me 3 times/day to check how I was doing.
